◯ Beneath the Surface is an interactive website and approach aiming to guide, inform, and engage users about the environmental impacts of chemical sunscreens on coral reefs and marine life.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
THE PROJECT:
Beneath the Surface is an interactive website that is designed to inform and engage users on the impacts of chemical sunscreens and how they can affect the environment. By delivering a pop-quiz format, users will participate in multiple-choice questions that will further deliver information in a unique graphic style.
GOALS + PHASES
THE GOALS:
To create a simplified resource that informs and engages users on chemical sunscreen matters and promotes ways to aid this issue. Aside from the delivery of content, it was important to consider accessibility, therefore colours and imagery were carefully selected and implemented so that the web design can be used by all audiences without any loss of information.
THE PHASES:
Beneath the Surface was divided up into three main phases: Research, Publication, and Interaction.
Shown below is the final phase - Interaction. Each part of the website is organized by providing a general chemical breakdown of chemical sunscreen, leading to how it can affect coral reefs, marine life, and us!
The style of the design was inspired by a strong editorial approach to accompany the print publication.
